All Packets #4248
Javelin::ClientMessages::TimeComponentServerFacet_SyncToClient
We know its format and the Azoth server already uses it.
Your game asks the server what time of day it is, which also tells the server you are ready.
Activity: Login & world entry
We already have this packet in a recording. You only need to record it again if you want to help check it.
- Start the capture, then log in.
- Wait until you are standing in the world.
- Write down the time you pressed Enter World.
Recording tips
- Record one activity per recording.
- Keep each recording under 5 minutes.
- Write down the time of each step.
- Send the ledger.bin file only through /capture on Discord.
When: Sent by the client about half a second after your own character appears in its world, when the character's time component starts. Its name says "sync to client", and the official server answers it with the day cycle and the current phase, so we read it as the client asking for the time of day. Our server also uses it as the sign that the local player is ready; that is our own choice, the protocol does not say it.
Offsets count from the first byte after the message type. The first 16 bytes name the component the call is addressed to; the arguments start at offset 16.
